Tudorose Poodles - Has Standards To Maintain

Field / Hunting

Tudorose Poodles are used for both hunting and hunt tests by many owners.  Owners find their Tudorose Poodles' desire to retrieve, their birdiness, their willingness, and their decent swimming ability to make wonderful characteristics for fine bird dogs.

Lambeau:

Tudorose Lambeau, CGC, JH, WCX

Lambeau and his owner, Antony hunt extensively together and have also managed to find the time to take part in the odd hunt test.  Antony says "We mainly hunt ducks and pheasants, and recently have gotten into some of the hunt test stuff."

Look hard in the photo below to find the poodle in among the labs:

Here are Antony and Lambeau after getting their final leg for their Junior Hunter Title (and look at the smile on that man's face!)

Castor:

OTCH NAHRA SR Walnuthill Castor of Tudorose MH, WCX, AKC CGC

Castor is the first poodle in Canada to earn a Master Hunter title. Not only has he earned a MH title, but he has his Obedience Trial Championship to boot! He and his owner Emily have done extensive field training and are pictured below taking part in the Gold Whistle Retriever Indoor Retriever Trials at the 2002 Toronto Sportsmen's Show.

Emily says of Castor: All his life, he's made himself useful picking up things around the house, presenting his shoulder for support getting up, and so on. There's a take-charge factor in any service
dog, and typically when he was taken out of his crate at the end of a long day to do that last Master Hunter water blind (which is nearly always at the very end of the test), his body-language was that of a dog on a mission to take his sodden owner home from a tavern: "It's time for us to go home for dinner." So, he'd flunk a water blind from being attentive to what he rightly considers to be his true vocation.

Laney:

SR U-CDX K'Land's Delaney of Tudorose JH, RE, CD, WCX, CGC (Laney)

Yes - you saw this same poodle in the obedience section.  Laney is currently being trained for Senior Hunter and here she is in action with Hank working on blinds:

Below left we have Laney retrieving her duck in a single water mark last summer and below right is when she was just a puppy being introduced to feathers on bumpers.

The Tudorose Poodles and their owners have great fun with this!
